This past Christmas, Dave gave me a gift that I enjoy every day and all year long. I'm not sure why, but last year I stopped feeding the birds. My bird feeders remained empty for months and the birds disappeared.

I’m happy to report I had a happy Mother’s Day, thanks to me, myself and I. I devoted precious time to lobbying for good presents, and it paid off.

I know we have a lot of readers who are new to blogging and looking for the best ways to be successful at it.

First, you need to figure out what your goals are. Blogging is a terrific hobby, and you can take it in a lot of different directions depending on what you want to achieve.

If you've just begun blogging, you're probably eager to see the traffic start flowing to your site. After all, blogging without followers feels a little bit like talking to yourself, and no one wants that! You probably have an internal vision of your blog as an active forum with comments, discussions, and lots of readers checking for your updates. Patience, grasshopper.

It is no secret that thousands of people make money blogging…but many more thousands of people blog and don’t make a dime. In many cases it’s just that they don’t want to –they are blogging strictly for fun. And that's all right. Blogging can be a great way to connect with other people who share your interests or to reach out to friends and family. Blogging can give back to you in plenty of ways that have nothing to do with money. In fact, if I didn't get a dime I would still blog. But in these hard times, who wouldn't appreciate some extra money every month?

When you're first thinking about starting a blog, it can be hard to think of all the possible directions you can go and to choose a strong topic for your blog. Even though it seems hard to make money on your blog, it really isn’t that difficult. Let that soak in! It’s really not that hard to earn money on your blog. This is especially true if you have a loyal readership. Make no mistake about it, the only way you are going to make money on your blog is if you have readers. If you have traffic, you’re going to make a lot of money. So many of us see the huge brands with big dollars invested in marketing to mom bloggers that we forget there are companies in our local areas that would love to get in on the action, too.

An increasing number of people are realizing the importance of blogging day by day. Creating a blog of your own and maintaining and updating it is the best way to make money on-line. You do not require start up costs for creating a blog. If you can post good content in your blog, something that attracts readers, you can see a sharp rise in the number of visitors to your blog. As the traffic to your blog increases you can earn money.

Pick a topic it can be a general topic, or theme. You can get ideas from other bloggers. The goal is to make your blog unique and something that is totally your own.
When you find the topic that you enjoy writing about, have plenty to say on the subject.
What you decide to write about determines what type of readers you will attract and how you make money from those readers.
Most mommy bloggers like to write about they family, kids, daily frustrations.
You can add your own personality into the tone of your blog posts you can create a blog using a very popular topic and make it your own.

More and more bloggers are finding that blogging is a profitable medium. Whether it be to earn a few extra dollars a week to feed their coffee habit, or making enough money to stop them having to get a part time job to get through college, or whether they’ve got it to a point where they are able to make a full time living from their blogging – there are tens of thousands of bloggers who make money blogging.
